To deepen the study and implementation of Comrade Xi Jinping's ecological civilization ideas, and to deepen the understanding of achieving peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality as the guide, nurturing the formation of new green development momentum, etc., Tang Renhu, Co-Chair of the Nagoya University-Sinocarbon Carbon Neutrality Innovation Laboratory, was invited to give a special lecture on November 21 at the 5th session of the Xiangjiang (Open) Lecture Series held by the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce.

The lecture covered various aspects, including the proposal and overall impact of the dual carbon goals, carbon trading, policy status, and actions at all levels under the dual carbon goals. This provided a comprehensive and clear understanding for the attendees about the overall path to achieve the dual carbon goals, the development and role of the carbon market, the current status and trends of China's carbon footprint management system, and how local governments and industrial enterprises in parks can efficiently and effectively implement the dual carbon goals. The lecture further strengthened the determination and confidence in promoting the realization of the dual carbon goals.
The Xiangjiang (Open) Lecture Series, initiated by the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, aims to study and implement Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. It enhances the ability to use the innovative theories of the Party to achieve the modernization of building a new Hunan. It serves as a crucial venue for the Party committee's (Party group's) theoretical learning center group to focus on major practical issues and strengthen learning and discussions. It is a significant innovation project in Hunan Province to enhance cadre education and training.
The event was presided over by Zhou Zhangsheng, a second-level inspector from the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce. Leaders of the department, the disciplinary inspection and supervision team stationed in the department, the department's offices, and all staff of the Provincial Business Service Center attended the meeting. The business authorities of various cities and prefectures participated in the training through online meeting platforms.
